By the end of the 800m straight a quick left and a quick right and another left into the short straight in from of the spectators and shouts of encouragment for about 250-300 of straight before another left hander and the track repeated itself and a process of clawing our way back through a field of motorcyles and scooters repeats itself.
I never had much chance to see the others racing, I understand Marty exercised caution, reluctant to scratch the paint of his GP, Shaneo looked hardout but needed a bit more grunt and Matt Brookes looked spectacular in the tight but lacked the long legs in the straights.
Yes we were lapped by one or 2 big bikes, but Daniel and I managed to lap a few scooters too, and we also had some great duels with bikes who clearly were not comfortable throwing themselves around the track.
It was spectacular fun, tremendous for building confidence and improving skills. Our next track day is January 17 and we expect an improved turnout. Can’t wait.
