3 January 2011 – Milford to Invercargill

230mls of rain overnight meant amazing waterfalls in the Sound today on our boat trip.  Thank goodness petrol pumps were working to top up for the trip out.  Met by Jim Carroll (Southern Scoot) near Riverton who rode with us back into Invercargill.  No breakdowns but one jerry can fill up required.  Today we hit the 2,000km mark!  According to the speedos that were working.

4 January 2011 – trip to Bluff

Local shambling day.  Today we headed to the wilds of Bluff for compulsory fish and chips and pictures at the signpost.  Went up Bluff’s only hill, a damn steep hill mind you, for 360 degree views.
