L.A.S.T. South Island Scooter tour – Part 2

7 January 2011 – Dunedin

Local shambling day.  Made page 3 of ODT today – dubious quality interview, quotes and attributions totally up the wop, but good photo.  Mega.  Lots of shambling, left our mark in Modaks, hung out with some of Sarah’s family at the end of the peninsula.  Beautiful.

8 January 2011 – Dunedin to Ngapara

Dunedin Farmers Market, delicious.  Photo on Dunedin train station platform, done.  Baldwin Street challenge completed by Aaron and Thornton, check.  Road between Oamaru and Ngapara, great.  Had fab night with Sarah’s biker uncle, barbecuing and yarning, and looooong time replacing kick start due to a bent non high-tensile bolt.

Fixits:  Kick start replacement (GS) Thanks Mr Skoot & Southern Scoot for delivery

9 January 2011 – Ngapara to Mt Cook

Fantastic scenery and a day with clear blue skies and perfect riding conditions. Riding across the dams at Lakes Aviemore and Benmore and stopping so as to not frighten cattle wandering down the road.  Stopped in Twizel for lunch, then headed into lupins and more lupins.  Just some of the highlights.  Oh, and staying at The Hermitage and enjoying a well-earned drink.
