“I rode a German NSU Prima 150cc scooter, as did my best friend Janice Edwards. She and I travelled together for all of the trip if I remember correctly.

I do remember that we spent the first night in tents in the camping ground at Taupo. I had never been camping before and froze that first night! Especially my head, so I made sure I had a warm hat to sleep in from then on!”
